As a member of the quartet ‘Vocalise’, William gave concerts for and was recorded by the ABC. Other highlights include working as both soloist and chorister with eminent conductors Christopher Hogwood and David Porcelijn.
William Moxey is a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, having studied singing with Janet Delpratt and Donald Smith, and choral conducting with Roy Wales. Whilst a student he was awarded the Bach Vocal Prize, the Margaret Nickson Prize and the Elizabeth Muir Scholarship.
He has appeared as a soloist with many choirs and orchestras, including the Queensland Conservatorium Singers, Queensland University Musical Society, Sydney Philharmonia, Sydney University Musical Society, Macquarie University Singers, Sydney University Graduates Choir, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. He also appeared in the inaugural season of the Lyric Opera of Queensland.
He was a member of the Song Company for six years, and appeared at two Adelaide Festivals, a New Zealand Festival, Brisbane’s Expo ’88 and at concerts in the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia as well as many hundreds in Australia.

For ten years William was the Musical Director of the acclaimed chamber choir, The Georgian Singers.
For eight years he was a staff tutor and Choral Director at the Ronald Dowd National Summer School for Singers, a school which attracted some of the finest young singers in Australia and New Zealand.
He maintains singing studios at Orange and Mudgee, and his students have met with success in AMEB examinations, tertiary entrance and the music profession. He currently directs Orange Regional Conservatorium Chamber Choir and The Allegri Singers.
Recent projects include conducting acclaimed performances of Mozart’s Great Mass in C minor, Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man and Handel’s Messiah in Bathurst and Orange, as well as collaborating in a well-received performance of Schubert’s Winterreise with pianist Luke Moxey.
William has recently adjudicated eisteddfodau at Broken Hill and Dubbo, and is passionate about encouraging and developing young talented singers and musicians.
