William Moxey has been the Musical Director of Allegri Singers since 2006.

William Moxey has appeared as a baritone soloist with many choirs and orchestras, including the Queensland Conservatorium Singers, Queensland University Musical Society, Sydney Philharmonia, Sydney University Musical Society, Macquarie University Singers, Sydney University Graduates Choir, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. He also appeared in the inaugural season of the Lyric Opera of Queensland. William conducted the Willoughby Symphony Choir for 17 years.

Since moving to the beautiful City of Orange with his family in 2000 William has maintained his performing and teaching activities, directing the Allegri Singers and the ORC Chamber Choir in addition to his singing studio. Recent projects include a recital of Schubert’s Winterreise with associate artist Luke Moxey, conducting Mary Poppins and Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man. Performances of Messiah (April 2022) were a welcome re-emergence of live music after restrictions imposed because of COVID.

The ORC Chamber Choir won every section they entered in the most recent City of Orange Eisteddfod, including the discretionary award of Best Overall Choir. In addition they presented Handel’s Ode on St. Cecilia’s Day with full orchestra in November 2022.

The Allegri Singers are at present preparing to perform Vivaldi’s Gloria with the Bathurst Chamber Orchestra, and will present Mendelssohn’s Elijah with William singing the title role in November 2023.
