The Allegri Singers, a mixed voice community choir, has a long and proud history in the Bathurst community. Formed in 1978, we enjoy bringing the joy of choral music to communities in the Central West and beyond.
Under the distinguished musical direction of William Moxey since 2006, the choir generally performs in at least two major concerts each year, as well as at various community events and festivals.
Notable recent performances include Karl Jenkin’s ‘The Armed Man’ with Orange Symphony Orchestra (November 2019), Handel’s ‘Messiah’ with the Orange Regional Conservatorium Orchestra (April 2022), Vivaldi’s ‘Gloria’ presented in conjunction with the Mitchell Conservatorium (May 2023), Mendelssohn’s ‘Elijah’ in Bathurst and Orange (November 2023), and Purcell’s ‘Come Ye Sons of Art’ (November 2024), and changing the tempo a little with a YuleFest theme in July 2025 with a ‘Eat, Sing and Be Merry’ variety performance.
