Allegri Singers’ first Concert of 2025 Final Touches

Final touches – a bit of polish and shine – are being applied to program content for Allegri Singers’ first concert of 2025. Under the title ‘Eat, Sing & be Merry’, the concert is designed to tease the musical taste buds of audiences in Bathurst and Oberon. In contrast to the ‘serious’ content of their performance of major classical pieces, this will be a light-hearted entertainment, with flavours and samples from sundry sources – (pardon the pun!).

Musical Program Spanning Multiple Genres

The program will include jazz numbers from the New York speakeasies of the 1930’s, a protest song from the 60’s, modern settings of ancient nursery rhymes, show songs, folk, and a couple of foreign language numbers to exercise the brain. From dead serious to downright hilarious, sentimental to silly, and occasionally a little bit naughty, audiences may expect to experience a range of mood changes and emotive moments.

William Moxey Leads Outstanding Performances

Musical Director, William Moxey has the extraordinary talent of finding excellent musical arrangements of well known songs, and assembling them into a really appealing program. His ability to bring out the best in the Allegri Singers has enabled them to present outstanding performances of a wide range of musical gems.

Featured Guest Artists: Emerging Young Musicians

One of the aims of Allegri Singers is to offer the opportunity of public performance to talented young emerging musicians. For this program, the choir is delighted to welcome harpist, Paris Masters, and soprano, Sienna Flannery, whose performances are sure to delight audiences.

It has been great fun for the choir to prepare this program (even for its more conservative ‘serious’ music lovers!) and this joy will no doubt be shared by audiences!
